Evaluation

For are project we had to create a website using the website called wix. This allows you to create a website for free to showcase your work if you want or even advertise your business or anything else but used it as a portfolio for are work that is online.

For are research we had to search up wix websites (three of them) and say what we like about them and what we would change about the websites so the ones I choice were really good in my opinion there was nothing really wrong with them although there were something I would change like this one right below it’s a great website showing off some fantastic animations but finding the drop down tab to take you to different pages if kind of hard to find so that’s one of things I would of changed about this website and this was our research doing this three times and I found it helpful to be honest because it showed me different things I could possible do with my website.

Also for are research we had to show different templates for are work which we could possibly use are actual website and say why we were thinking of using this specific one over all the other ones on the website so the three I choice were

My research flounced my work massively with me see what people have done with their websites putting things on different pages constantly and never grouping there work with something else it’s all separate work on one page so that’s what I did with my work if have green screen work on one page I would have something completely different on the next page and this is to keep the readers interest in what the person is reading instead of looking at one massively long block of text about everything on one page. It also showed me what sort of pictures I could actually put on my website as some of the work my not fit my website so well so looking at other post by other people putting photos on their website really helped as well.

I feel like I did well on this project personally I finished my website really early on and just kept adding to its though out the weeks like when we finished are green screen piece of work I added the actually video of it which was uploaded to YouTube and on my research I feel like it was really well as I did everything I needed to on it and a bit more as I explained what is on the website how it could be improved and what is good about the website when all we needed to do was talk about the website so I feel this project went well.

I do feel like there are something’s to be improved on like what is on my website because I finished quite early I don’t have everything I wanted on it but by slowly adding it I kept forgetting to add things instead of doing it all at once so this is one thing I could of improved on in my opinion.

I personally learnt a lot in this project about time management because I finished quite early so I did not have much to do in these last couple of weeks so ive been doing other work and catching up on work like my personal project so one is time management. Secondly I learnt how to use wix as I had no idea it even existed before this project as I have never need to create a website before so this website made it really simple and easy to do however it’s not always easy to get on as we learned in one lesson where it would not load for anyone at all so that’s another thing I learnt.

There are lots of benefits to using interactive media for are portfolio because this way if are employer in the future wants to look at some work we have done in the past he can we give him the website link and he can see right there in then what I’ve done in the past work wise. Also I can constantly keep adding to it as its online so I can access it anywhere around the world so if I do more I can add it to this website if I wanted or even create a new one for new work.

For my peer feedback that i got from people in my group was mainly positive with saying how my website is simple but very effective and showed a good understanding of what ive done this year showing a lot of work however there are a few things people showed me that i could improve like spelling on certain words there was a spelling error on the word graphics where i got the c and the h the wrong way round which is just me typing too fast also some one bought up the stock images which is the background of the website i could of used a picture that i took but felt better using one on the wix website instead.

I chose this picture because it showcases some of my best photography work with the photo being from behind and catching the turkeys eye at the perfect point and its looks like hes looking behind at me with the photo. 

I also chose this photo because i found it kind of funny how all of it wool was covering its eyes so it had no clue what was going on so i decided to take a photo for it and i personally liked it so it got on my website 

I dont really know why i chose this photo i just wanted something that was not a animal so i chose this photo that i took for are very first project which was freak or unique and i turned this into something creepy and unusual.  

i chose this one because it shows some of the editing i had to go though with this project which i personally feel like i did well it like the project overall because of how simple it was to edit (well that what i though anyway) 

|This photo of a duck i chose because i wanted to add another photo to the photography page so that's really it although i still do like the photo 

This photo of the fox i made this with photoshop for the game we had to design and i feel like this character is well designed and could be one of the best pieces of work that ive done this year in my opinion  

Website

For this page in my blog i had to choose the background from a couple of choices and i liked it more then the other choices and i feel like it suited my work more then just a simple boring background like it being blue or orange only secondly with template i choice it came with the text boxes for the front page so it was easy to create and type in all that needed.

For this page of my blog you can see the About Me section of the website where it explains what i enjoy doing in my spare time what im currently doing and how to contact me if nessaccery to and below has some pictures that i took and feel like are some of my best photography (im a begining ok). i did this with importing pictures from my hard drive onto the website by uploading them to it and putting them on the page.

For this page of my blog you can see some of the editing i have done on my lastes piece of work which was working with a green screen and making what ever we wanted though it as long as it was appropirate which ares was. And it explans what we did on the project and how we did it in the page but below the photo you can click the play button and it will actaully start the film that we did with the green screen though youtube. 

For this page of my blog i show off some of my photography work which i have done thoughout the year of doing it and though this year i have done it like five different projects from film noir to taking photos of creatures for a harry potter like game board so i decided to show some photos from a couple of the different projects which is what i did with the photos on the page.

For my photoshop work that i have done this year there is not too much to shows to be honest as most of my work this  year im personally unhappy with because im not the artistic person alive and i cant draw at all so i find graphics work kind of hard at sometimes but i enjoy working on the actually photoshop side of it editing things and making things though photoshop so this is what its showcasing something that i made from photoshop.

For this template i have chose i liked it because it looked clean and simple to use with the front page being 4 different ways to get around the website.It would be a good look for any website as it would direct the way around the website so easy nobody can complain about they cant find this or that.

I also like this because i like the fact you can have a photo in the background of the picture instead of having a colored background you can have a image the applies to what you are offering people with your website so if you are selling electrical goods you can put the best selling appliance at the front or even put a picture of a kitchen with different goods in there so for these reasons this is my number 1 website template and the one that i think i may use. However i will change it so its got a personal feel to it and it will show you what is on my website before people start to explore it more with going thought the 4 different page on the main page.

For my number 2 template i have chose is this plain white white with images in the middle of the page this shows a bit of class and shows people that you are professional with your work. with the homepage of the whole think you have a image right in the middle showing off your work and if you have multiple work that you are proud of you can show all of them off as the image changes in a slide show of images so you can show off your work straight away with the person just entering the website. If i chose to have this template design then i could have the picture of what ever i need going on the slide show at the very start of the website so people would know what this website is all about before going in to different tabs they can decided if they need to look thought the website and find what they want.

For my number 3 template i have chose this on as its a burst of colour on the page and it just attracts you too look at it when you are there or see the page for the first time and this just keeps you looking at it for a long time so people will always be coming back to this page to see if anything new on there because they want to see the colours again.

Also its a very simple layout with the task bar being at the top of the page so people can find it easy it has a drop down menu so you can find something specific that your looking for with the drop down menu so its easy to use there.

For this website i would change the background of the website to something else that has a burst of colour like this website because it does look really good with the burst of colour behind it but i would also change the drop down menu as i personally dont really like them as you may click the tab by accident and not get to the right tab that you want to.

For this website that i found i think its a really good website and deserves a lot of credit as the creater of this website and all of the animations on it obviously took a lot of time creating it and making sure its the way he wants it to look and it works well it easy to get around and is easy to access what you want quick and easy.

This website says about its animations and when you first load  up the page its obvious to see why as a animation pops up almost instantly and its a mix of all of the animations on the page so you know what characters are going to be in the animations that he has done.

the thing that stands out with this website is the amount of work that has gone in to it and its simple lay it theirs a button on the side that says menu and it opens up a menu on the side of the screen which is perfect for the website as it doesn't go all the way across the screen it going just a bit like it does in the picture above the text so the theme works well for the whole website as it point is to show off the animation not for the website which he has done perfectly.

however with this side bar on this website some people might not  know how to navagate the page as you need to click something that the top to acctually open the side bar so that is something that i might of changed if i was making this website.

This website showcases people art work that they want to post online and show to people around the world and get recognition for there work that they have worked hard on and took time over them so this website is great for that as im guessing a lot of people use this website if you are into art.

The thing that stands out the most on the website is the fact its so clean and easy to use again everything you need is right in front of you and easy to access like the last website also its got one menu at the top and its easy to know where your gonna go as it tells you before you enter the page.

the creater of this page would categorizes his work as art/photography as there is a lot of art work and a lot of photography involved with this website and i would have to agree with him as this is all the thats on the website.

But i feel that you could add more to it if you show off work that is in art gallerys or something like that they could add more art works or even 8 bit pixel work.

For this website that i found its all about us the army training so its all finding locations of where a missile drone is coming in and flying drones in the air scouting enemies locations across a map so its basic training for people that dont want to do it there and they can just do it at home and have fun with it.

One improvement for this website is the fact its really loud and it took me a while to find where the volume button is so they could make that more obvious in the future and also the actually game is really complicated and is hard to understand but apart from these too its a really good website to have a go at from time to time.

the thing that stands out on this page is again the time and effort of the people who made this website as it would't of been easy at all with the amount of detail that went into some of the levels on this game.
